Still in good shape!!!
Does have some normal cosmetic wear and the top portion is separated from the base (pictured) but still fits perfectly onto the internal rod and can be displayed and secured without issue!!! Upon close inspection, the separation can be easily seen but when viewed from more of a distance, the separation is not very noticeable and tends to blend in with the Earthier tones of the piece!!!
Still, could be a great project for a restorationist!!! This gorgeous
Qingtia
carved statue is comprised of of genuine Chinese jade stone and depicts two ears of corn, adorned with small flowers sprouting from earth colored roots!!! The fine craftsmanship superior attention to detail makes this piece a true work of art that any collector or enthusiast is sure to appreciate!!! The statue does have some markings on it that could be an artists signature but the best translation that I've been able to find are that the center markings display the word "Joy" or "Happiness" while the right-side markings display "Qingtain stone carving" and I couldn't really find much for the left-side writing which makes me think it is most likely a maker's mark or information about the origin of the piece (exact year or region)!!! Please bear in mind that these are rough translation and that I am unable to read these characters myself so the writings could differ somewhat. Regardless though this piece is sure to make an impressive addition to any serious collection!!! The statue measures approximately 15-1/4" tall, 13" wide and about 5" deep!!! The piece weighs approximately 15.5 lbs when assembled!!!
PLEASE NOTE: This statue is being sold with some normal cosmetic wear present which includes minor scuffs and scratches throughout. The top portion of the statue has also been separated from the base as can be seen in the photographs but the two pieces still fit together and can be displayed or secured without issue. Any potential buyers should carefully review all of the auction photographs before placing any bids to properly assess this pieces physical condition.
