For greater ease of use and access to new functions, inReach Mini can connect via Bluetooth® to compatible devices with the Apple® or Android ™ platform, allowing the use of maps and aerial images thanks to the free Earthmate app. In addition, Earthmate allows you to conveniently use all the inReach Mini functions on your smartphone or tablet. Pair it with Garmin Pilot ™
In the world of aviation, inReach Mini has become a very important device for air communications. When paired via Bluetooth with a Garmin Pilot app compatible tablet or smartphone, inReach Mini allows you to easily send and receive text messages when in the cabin, even in areas with no cell phone signal reception. The app extracts contacts from your smartphone's address book, so access is quick and easy. Since inReach Mini is also a portable GPS, Garmin Pilot is able to use its reliable location function to memorize the aircraft's position with a symbol and display it on the moving map of the tablet. Additional aviation services
inReach Mini is also a supported device for Lockheed Martin Flight Services (LMFS) Adverse Condition Alerting Service (ACAS), Surveillance-Enhanced Search and Rescue (SE-SAR) and Enhanced Special Reporting Services (eSRS). If you register to receive ACAS information, the alerts provided through LMFS allow you to know the details to address any adverse conditions that could affect the route of your flight. Similarly, the automatic monitoring provided by the SE-SAR service allows the system to identify potential emergency situations in flight and / or send signals to promptly initiate search and rescue procedures for your aircraft.
Weather forecast everywhere
The optional inReach weather forecast service provides detailed updates directly to your inReach Mini device or smartphone or tablet (via the Earthmate app) so you always know the weather conditions along your route. Basic and premium weather packages are available. You can request weather forecasts for your current location or for any waypoint or route destination.
