Hammersley Gilt & Pink Floral Cup & Saucer Hand Painted/Artist Signed F Howard

Description

This bone china cup and saucer were made by Hammersley & Co. in England and hand painted by china decoration artist Fred Howard. The signature “F. Howard” appears in gilt paint among the floral bouquet on the saucer (please see photo of the center of the saucer with Howard’s name circled).
The bottom of the saucer is marked with the Hammersley imprint along with “H 55”. The bottom of the cup is similarly marked with the Hammersley imprint along with “H 34”.
The saucer is approximately 6 inches in diameter. The cup is approximately 3 inches high.
The cup and saucer appear unused and have no repairs or worn paint or gold.
The saucer has one small area of the rim that appears to be either a factory flaw or a chip
(
the spot is too tiny for us to tell which it is;
please see photo with circle so you can decide).
We cannot find this Hammersley pattern but believe it is from the 1930s or 1940s.
