Vintage Hammersley Rowland Ward Nairobi Kenya "Superb Starling " Demitasse Cup & Saucer. I have the whole set of different birds in this series but decided to list them separate in the event someone is only looking for 1 or 2 and not an entire set. Please see the many other bird demitasse sets I have in this collection. I have 2 sets with this bird on them.
Purchased in the 60's and mainly used as display. Fully marked on the reverse of the cup along with the name of the bird. Hammersley, Rowland Ward Nairobi Kenya, Bone China, Made in England.
There are no chips, cracks on the set but from age the cup rim does have a bit of gold wear. Please see the photos. The cup has the bird design only on the front. Measures about 2 3/8" Tall with an opening of about 2". The saucer measures about 4 1/2" and is white with gold trim. There are no birds on the saucer. The reverse of the saucers has the same mark as the cup but does not state the bird's name.
