Description
Maker: This lovely blue and white cup and saucer is marked with the green backstamp of Hammersley & Co, the iconic Stoke-on-Trent, England, china factory.
Hammersley began production in 1932. In 1976 it merged with Royal Worcester, and the Hammersley brand was retired in 1982.
Design
: The pretty and finely detailed pattern - called Cornflower Blue, pattern number 6034 - features beautifully hand painted bursts of cornflowers against a pure white bone china background trimmed in gold.
Size
: The cup is 2 1/2 inches tall and 3 5/8 inches wide; the saucer is 6 5/8 inches wide. The set weighs 11 ounces.
Condition
: It's in excellent condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, marks, stains or repairs. There is a tiny embedded grey dot on the saucer; it was created in the manufacturing process and can be seen in the photos.
