VINTAGE HAMMERSLEY English Bone China RARE Biscuit Jar Yellow Rose Old English
Beautiful estate find!  This is a scarce vintage English bone china Biscuit Jar made by Hammersley.  It is a lovely yellow old garden rose pattern with a touch of pink and green foliage.  Wonderful condition! The gold rims are intact and there are no areas of damage in the ways of chips, nicks or crazing.  Hand painted enamel is bright and interior of jar is pure white.  It appears to have had very little use.  There is one tiny pin prick firing glaze dot on top of knob but very minimal and you have to look for it.
Height of jar with lid on is 6 1/2 inches.   Width of opening is 4 1/4 inches.
Marked to the base with the green Hammersley crown mark that was in use as early as 1939.  It also has a pattern mark of what appears to be 6319 in green.  I have not been able to find this pattern elsewhere but Replacements does have this pattern listed as an old England pattern 8107.
This would be lovely for use and display...  tea, scones, dog biscuits, vanity, etc!    It is a lovely piece and what a great gift for someone special or treat yourself!
